"Sound the Trumpet"

Festive arias and sparkling trumpet set in the superb acoustic of St John’s Church, where Malcolm Sargent was once the organist. Caroline Sharpe First Prizewinner in the Mario Lanza Opera Competition in 2009, is joined by Andy Harris, trumpet, and Fergus Black, organ. The programme kicks off with the Te Deum Prelude by Charpentier, and includes Let the Bright Seraphim and Jauchzet Gott. There is a delightful christmas cantata by Telemann to become acquainted with, and songs and duets that will be already familiar.
