Pergolesi Stabat Mater
Saturday 4th October 2014
at St John’s Church, Stamford
"Pergolesi Stabat Mater"
7.30pm
Helen Didsbury (soprano) and Rosamund Ochala-Greenough (mezzo) perform a programme including Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, with Fergus Black, organ, and Lucia McLernon, cello. The heart-achingly beautiful Stabat Mater became one of the most frequently printed single works in the eighteenth century, and it’s popularity endures to this day. The work unfolds in a series of twelve solos and duets for two voices, which are both tuneful and mystical. Solos and duets by Purcell, Vivaldi and Bach complete the programme.
Tickets £7 (£5 concessions) from Stamford Arts Centre, 01780 763203
